About the Claudia Robbs Memorial Scholarship

On behalf of Claudia Robbs, First Tee – Greater Seattle will offer three (3) scholarships per year providing each winner with $300 in credit for instruction, equipment, and tournaments, and a complimentary year of enrollment in First Tee – Greater Seattle programming. These scholarships are intended to give three (3) female golfers per year a boost in their efforts to further improve their game and engage in additional competition, which can be an expensive endeavor for any family.

About Claudia Robbs

Robbs was a long-time member of Overlake Golf and Country Club in Medina, Washington.  She was an accomplished golfer, businessperson in the Seattle community and a member of the Overlake Women’s Team.  Claudia was a consummate competitor. Having played in the Overlake Women’s Golf Championship and Seattle City Championships, both individually and with her Overlake Team. Claudia served the greater Seattle women’s golfing community as a member of the Board of the Seattle Women’s Golf Association (SWGA) from 2006 to 2018, becoming their President in 2019.   An advocate for women and girls in golf, Claudia worked tirelessly to make the game fun and inclusive.

Who should receive the scholarships? 

Golfers with the drive!

Eligibility

Preferred (at least three of the four):

·       Desire to compete in tournament golf at a high level.

·       Active member of First Tee – Greater Seattle (age 9+)

·       Volunteer experience as a junior coach at First Tee.

·       Top three overall score in girls’ division in the spring, summer or fall Chapter Championship.

Required:

·       Player exemplifies the Nine Core Values on and off the course.

·       Financial need: Scholarship provides an opportunity that would otherwise not be possible.

·       Not younger than 9 years old, or beyond senior year in high school.

If selected, applicant agrees to provide a written thank you letter and a photo to the Claudia Robbs Estate following activation of their scholarship.
