Question and Answer
Tell us who you are!My name is Grace, I am a junior at Issaquah High School and an Ace member with The First Tee of Greater Seattle.
What’s your career low round, what course? My lowest round was a 70 at Twin Rivers Golf Course
Do you have one or two main keys to your chipping?I always make sure that I’m following through my shots and placing my weight on my front foot.
When you first get to your ball (or when you start planning your shot), what do you look for?I would look for any obstacles that my ball might hit and decide if I want to hit it low or high.
What do you do to prepare to address the ball?I would make sure that my hands are forward and the clubhead is squared.
What’s your ball position and how do you set the club face?Have the ball close to my front foot if I want to go high and have the ball close to my back foot if I want to go low. I also make sure that the clubface is always open for my chip shots.
As you approach and address the ball, what are you thinking about to get the club lined up and in position to hit?I would make sure that the clubface is open and aiming towards the target
Any last thoughts as you hit?Remember to follow through my shots.
Do you have a go-to or favorite shot to use? Why that one?I like chipping the ball lower because I have better distance control than carrying it in the air.
