First Tee National Academies & Scholarships
First Tee program doesn’t just get kids on the course; it offers exciting opportunities for growth. With the help of First Tee national corporate partners, more advanced participants can apply to attend these golf and leadership events. These events often become life-changing experiences. Youth meet new people, play golf, achieve greatness, and show our Nine Core Values in action.
We are pleased to announce the schedule of participant opportunities conducted by the home office. As one of the leading chapters in the network, it has been a great honor of ours to have many of our participants here in Seattle selected for these opportunities. And we hope YOU are the next one to be selected!
First Tee College Scholarship Program
The First Tee College Scholarship Program provides valuable, life-changing opportunities for the youth of First Tee. Helping them prepare for success is at the core of our mission. We believe in encouraging youth to pursue their dreams and further their education.
This program awards participants who excel in academics, leadership, character development, and chapter and community involvement. Thanks to our generous donors, First Tee is proud to offer up to a $20,000 scholarship, mentoring throughout the college experience, professional development workshops and assistance in securing internships and jobs through the First Tee College Scholarship Program.
Applications are accepted once per year from seniors in high school who meet the minimum eligibility requirements. All components of the application will be reviewed with consideration that this program offers need and merit-based scholarships.2025 Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the First Tee College Scholarship Program, applicants must meet ALL of the following requirements:
- Must be classified as a high school senior as of December 31, 2024
- Minimum 3.3 GPA on a 4.0 grading scale
- Test-Optional
- Intent to attend a four-year accredited college or university in Fall 2025
- If selected, the participant must be able to attend the Pre-College Retreat and the annual Winter Workshop
- Registered and active in First Tee headquarters database at the time of application deadline
- Involved in chapter activities at the time of application submission
- Participants who have spent a longer amount of time in First Tee programs will receive higher consideration in the selection.
- Evidence of responsible volunteerism or citizenship through meaningful involvement in community and/or civic activities

YOC College Scholarship
Since 2008, Youth on Course has proudly awarded over $3.2 million in scholarships to more than 300 deserving members. Remarkably, 40% of these scholarship recipients are the first in their families to attend college, paving the way and setting inspiring examples for others to follow. Each year approximately 20 scholarships will be awarded, ranging from $4,000 to $20,000 to be distributed over four years. Youth on Course Scholarships are need and merit-based. Golf participation is important but skill is not a factor.
Eligibility
- Be a Youth on Course member (non-members can join at youthoncourse.org)
- Be enrolled as a full-time senior in high school
- Have a minimum GPA of 3.0
- Plan to attend a four-year college/university
The Process
Youth on Course members must apply by Friday, January 10th at 11:59pm PST. Once applications close, a review process will begin and applicants will be notified in March if they need to schedule an interview. After interviews close, a final review process will take place and the 2025 Youth on Course scholarship recipients will be notified.

The Chevron Changing the Face of Golf Scholarship
The Chevron Changing the Face of Golf Scholarship will be awarded through the LPGA Foundation as part of Chevron’s commitment through the LPGA Foundation Giving Circle. Established in 2022, Chevron will offer this scholarship opportunity for female high school seniors of minority background pursuing a full-time, STEM-focused course of study at an accredited college or university in the United States. Through this effort, the LPGA Foundation will further its commitment to Change the Face of Golf and increase opportunities for young women to obtain a college education. For this particular Scholarship process, Five (5) $2,500 scholarships will be awarded in the Spring of 2025 and will be available for renewal for four years of undergraduate studies ($10,000 total). This amounts to seven total scholarships presented by Chevron including the two Dinah Shore Chevron Scholarships. The application process will open in the Fall of 2024.
Eligibility Criteria
Demonstrate community service
Be a high school senior at the time of application
Student must identify as Asian, Black or African-American, Hispanic/Latin-American, American Indian or Alaskan Native, Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander.
A minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA out of a 4.0 scale is needed to apply and must be maintained
Pursuit of a STEM-focused educational path
Committed to attending an accredited college or university in the United States

LPGA Dinah Shore Scholarship
The Chevron Dinah Shore Scholarship was established in 1994 by the LPGA Foundation to honor the late Dinah Shore, a graduate of Vanderbilt University, a Hollywood entertainer, and an honorary member of the LPGA Tour Hall of Fame. This Scholarship also helps preserve her legacy, as an advocate for women’s golf, co-founder of The Chevron Championship and honorary member of the LPGA Tour Hall of Fame.
The Chevron Dinah Shore Scholarship is granted annually to female high school seniors who are pursuing a college education, but will not be playing collegiate golf. In an effort to preserve the legacy of Dinah Shore and her contributions to women’s golf, Chevron is offering two (2) $2,500 scholarships to be awarded per year renewable over 4 years ($10,000 total for each recipient). This amounts to seven total scholarships including the five Chevron Changing the Face of Golf Scholarships.
Eligibility
- Be a high school senior at the time of application
- A minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA out of a 4.0 scale is needed to apply and must be maintained
- Committed to attending an accredited college or university in the United States
- Demonstrate a passion for women’s golf and helping the younger generation get involved in the game

LPGA Marilynn Smith Scholarship
The Marilynn Smith Scholarship is granted annually through The LPGA Foundation and the Marilynn Smith Scholarship Fund. Established in 1999 by Marilynn with the proceeds of a golf tournament she organized, the objective of the Marilynn Smith Scholarship is to provide a scholarship to a female high school senior who has played golf in high school or in her community and has signed a letter of intent play golf at an accredited college or university in the United States.
The Marilynn Smith Scholarship will be awarded to high school seniors who will be playing golf at the collegiate level. Multiple $5,000 scholarships will be awarded in 2025.

LPGA Phyllis G. Meekins Scholarship
The Phyllis G. Meekins Scholarship is granted annually through the LPGA Foundation and the Phyllis G. Meekins Scholarship Fund. Established in 2006, the objective of the Phyllis G. Meekins Scholarship is to provide a need-based scholarship to a female high school senior from a recognized minority background who will be pursuing a full-time course of study and has signed a letter of intent play golf at an accredited college or university in the United States.
The Phyllis G. Meekins Scholarship is a need-based award granted to a high school senior from a recognized minority background who will be playing golf at the collegiate level. Qualifications for all scholarships include strong academic programs, community service, and recommendations. Two $5,000 scholarships will be awarded in 2025.

LPGA Renee Powell Scholarship
The Renee Powell Scholarship will be awarded through The LPGA Foundation and the LPGA Renee Powell Fund. Established in 2022, the Renee Powell Scholarship will provide financial aid to female, Black or African American, high school seniors pursuing a full-time course of study and playing collegiate golf at an accredited college or university in the United States. Through this effort, The LPGA Foundation will further its commitment to Change the Face of Golf and create opportunities for Black or African American girls to pursue their dreams. Two (2) $5,000 scholarships will be awarded in the Spring of 2023.
About Renee Powell
Renee Powell is an American professional golfer who played on the US-based LPGA Tour and is currently head professional at her family’s Clearview Golf Club, the only course designed, built, owned and operated by an African-American. The daughter of golf course entrepreneur Bill Powell, Renee grew up in Ohio and took up golf at an early age. As the second Black player on the LPGA Tour, Renee has dedicated her career to increasing diversity in golf. She is Renee is a true trailblazer and beloved global ambassador for golf.
Awarding the Renee Powell Scholarship
Thanks to the support of the #HoodieForGolf campaign, led by Michelle Wie West to raise funds for two important initiatives honoring Renee Powell – the LPGA Foundation and Clearview Golf Club. As part of this initiative, the LPGA Foundation designated funds toward the newly established Renee Powell Scholarship. The goal of the Renee Powell Scholarship is to boost representation of Black girls within the collegiate golf space. Qualifications to apply for the scholarship include strong academics, community service and letters of recommendations.
Eligibility Criteria
- Be of Black or African-American descent
- Be a high school senior at the time of application
- A minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA out of a 4.0 scale is needed to apply
- Committed or in the process of committing to playing collegiate golf at an accredited college or university in the United States

The LPGA Foundation Scholarship, Presented by Acumatica will be awarded through the LPGA Foundation as part of Acumatica’s commitment to Changing the Face of Golf. Established in 2024, Acumatica’s scholarship opportunity is for female high school seniors pursuing a full-time, STEM-focused course of study at an accredited college or university in the United States. Through this effort, the LPGA Foundation will further its commitment to increasing opportunities for female students to obtain a college education. For this scholarship process, two (2) $10,000 scholarships will be awarded in the spring of 2025 and two (2) $10,000 scholarships in the spring of 2027. Each scholarship will be paid on an annual basis of $5,000 per academic year. The winners from 2025 will be eligible to receive the scholarship again in 2027, but they must reapply. This amounts to eight total $5,000 scholarships disbursed by Acumatica in 2025, 2026, 2027, and 2028. The application process for the 2025 awards will open in the fall of 2024.
The Why
The goal of this initiative is to increase representation of females who have been traditionally underrepresented in golf and STEM.
The How
The LPGA Foundation and Acumatica are offering this scholarship program, which will award two scholarship winners $5,000 in the spring of 2025 and $5,000 in the spring of 2026—a total scholarship of $10,000 each. The application process will be reopened in the fall of 2026, and, again, two scholarship winners will receive $5,000 in the spring of 2027 and $5,000 in the spring of 2028—a total of $10,000 each. The original award winners from 2025 will be eligible to receive the scholarship again in 2027, but they must reapply.

- Be a high school senior at the time of application
- A minimum cumulative 3.3 GPA out of a 4.0 scale is needed to apply and must be maintained
- Plan to pursue a STEM-focused educational path
- Committed to attending an accredited college or university in the United States
- Have demonstrated community service
- Demonstrate a passion for women’s golf and helping the younger generation get involved in the game
- Have played or trained in the sport of golf – Does not need to play golf at collegiate level
